Accessibility

We want chandi.sg to be usable by everyone, including people who browse with a screen reader, a keyboard alone, or at a high zoom level. We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

What we have done

• Contrast is measured, not assumed. Every foreground and background pair on the site was computed against its actual background. Our copper and slate accents failed AA on the darker grounds at 3.99:1 and 3.91:1, so darker variants are used there. There are currently no AA contrast failures on any page.
• Tap targets are at least 44 × 44 pixels on touch devices, across all pages.
• Every content image carries alternative text; decorative images are marked as decorative so screen readers skip them.
• Keyboard navigable throughout, with a visible focus ring on every control and a skip link on every page. The chapter tabs support arrow keys, Home and End.
• Nothing is hidden behind JavaScript. With scripts disabled every collapsed panel simply shows; no content depends on script to be readable.
• Motion respects your settings. The parallax and the slow image drift stop entirely when your device is set to reduce motion.
• Layout holds from 320 pixels upward with no horizontal scrolling, and text reflows rather than truncating at high zoom.

Where we fall short

We would rather tell you than claim a standard we have not met.

• The site has not yet been tested end-to-end with a screen reader by a person who uses one daily. Automated checking is not the same thing and we are not treating it as such.
• The collapsible menu courses and chapter tabs are keyboard accessible, but we have not verified how they are announced in every screen reader and browser pairing.
• Some photographs of dishes carry descriptive alternative text that names the dish and its components; it does not describe the plating in full.

Getting into the room

chandi is on level 3 at 11 Slim Barracks Rise, #03-02, NTU@one-north. There is lift access to level 3, the room is step-free, and there is an accessible toilet on the same level. Children are welcome at all times and there is no dress code. Tell us about any access requirement when you book and we will confirm honestly what we can and cannot do.
