The things people ask before they book, answered plainly.

What does it cost to book the whole venue at chandi?

There is no hire fee. Reach a minimum spend of S$380++ on food and drink across 3 hours and the entire venue is exclusively yours. A discretionary 10% service charge and prevailing GST apply. Longer evenings and peak dates are quoted on enquiry.

How many people does chandi seat?

28 seated, and more standing for a reception. It is one room with no partitions, so the house is taken whole or shared with strangers — there is no half measure.

Can we play our own music and watch our own film?

Yes. On a private buyout the screen and the sound system are yours. Bring a playlist, a film, a match or a presentation. There is also a full-size pool table and a set of table games.

Is there a pool table?

Yes, a full-size table in the middle of the room rather than tucked in a corner. It is included in a buyout at no extra charge.

Where is chandi and how do I get there?

11 Slim Barracks Rise, #03-02, NTU@one-north, Singapore 138664, in one-north. Nearest MRT: one-north (CC23) and Buona Vista (CC22 / EW21). Parking is available in the building at the building’s standard rates.

What are the opening hours?

11am — 10pm, Wednesday to Monday. Closed Tuesdays and public holidays. The café runs through the day; dinner and the bar take over in the evening.

What kind of food is it?

Modern Indian — Indian technique at the root with French execution. Twenty-two plates in three movements — To begin, The mains, To close. Ten Signatures named into the house world, and twelve Classics named plainly. The tandoor leads eight of them.

Is there a vegetarian menu?

Six of the eighteen savoury plates are vegetarian, and all four desserts — close to half the menu, treated as an equal chapter rather than a substitute.

Do you serve beef or pork?

No. Chicken, seafood and lamb only. The house XO sauce is pork-free, which is not the same as allergen-free — see the allergy note below.

Is chandi halal?

chandi is not halal-certified. We serve no beef or pork — chicken, seafood and lamb only.

Can I book chandi for a party, meeting or get-together?

Yes. Birthdays and celebrations, team evenings, client dinners, launches, meetings, film or match nights, pool and games nights — spend S$380++ on food and drink over 3 hours and the whole room is yours, with no hire fee. Take the long table for up to twenty, separate tables, a standing reception or the full buyout. The screen takes your deck, film or match, and the pool table, table games and full bar come with the room.

Is there a deposit or cancellation policy for a buyout?

Deposit and cancellation terms are confirmed when you enquire and sent to you with your booking.

Are children welcome?

Yes. Children are welcome at all times.

Is chandi wheelchair accessible?

Yes. There is a lift to level 3, the room is step-free, and there is an accessible toilet on the same level.

Is there a dress code?

No dress code — come as you are.

Is there parking?

Parking is available in the building at the building’s standard rates.

Can I bring my own wine?

Bringing your own wine or spirits is by arrangement — please ask when you book.

How can I pay?

We accept cards, PayNow and cash.

How do you handle allergies?

Tell us when you book. A guest declaring an allergy is taken to the chef on the pass; floor staff do not answer allergen questions from memory. The tandoor is a shared fire and the fryer is shared oil, so neither is a clean environment for a severe allergy, and we will say so rather than reassure you.

Can I book a table for two, or is it buyouts only?

Both. Ordinary tables are welcome every day. The buyout is an option, not a requirement.

Do you deliver?

Yes, arranged directly with the house rather than through an aggregator, so there is no third-party markup. Some plates travel well and some do not, and we will tell you which.

Who is the chef?

Chef Manjunath Mural, Group Culinary Chef, was the first Indian executive chef in Southeast Asia to earn a Michelin star for an Indian restaurant, held four consecutive years at The Song of India from 2016 to 2019. Chef Anandram, Group Executive Chef, has twenty-eight years in professional kitchens.

What does the name chandi mean?

Moonlight. From चाँदनी, chāndnī — the light, not the metal. It comes from Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi, the boulevard Jahanara Begum laid out in the 1650s with a canal down its length so the moon would travel the street in the water.
